MG Unlocks is MG OMD's flagship annual event in the UK. A full-day summit format built around multiple speakers and sessions, each covering different topics for a shared audience. Fifteen separate presentations needed to be designed: each tailored to its speaker's content and argument, each visually distinct enough to serve that session, but held together so the event read as one considered experience rather than a sequence of unrelated slides.

A UK event, designed overnight from Sydney

The brief came to Cureative in Sydney for a UK event, which meant the production model had to be built around the timezone gap, not against it. A morning WhatsApp message signalled what work was coming. Documentation followed through MG OMD's SecureShare platform. A clarity call before work began ensured both teams were aligned before any design decisions were made. An evening handover from the Australian side and a 6am morning briefing session kept files moving cleanly through each cycle -- when the Sydney day ended, the work continued.

Fifteen briefs that would not sit still

The harder problem was the speakers. Briefs that had been agreed on changed. Arguments that worked in writing looked different once they were on a slide. A session that had been locked required a structural redesign, not a text edit. With 15 presentations running simultaneously, a change to one had to be absorbed without disrupting the production schedule of the others. Cureative turned those revisions around within the existing production window, keeping the full set on track.
